480 - And Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Matar and Abu Yahya informed me that Abu Talib narrated to them regarding this issue, saying: "Is knowledge testimony?" Abu 'Abd Allah replied: "Yes, if he knows that he is so-and-so, son of so-and-so, and the slave of so-and-so, and the house of so-and-so, and he does not know otherwise. Likewise, you testify that the ten are in Paradise." He said: "And a man testifies to the house of so-and-so, the slave of so-and-so, and the son of so-and-so; all of this is by acquaintance and his knowledge of the thing."
٤٨٠ - وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَطَرٍ، وَأَبُو يَحْيَى، أَنَّ أَبَا طَالِبٍ حَدَّثَهُمْ فِي هَذِهِ الْمَسْأَلَةِ، قَالَ: الْعِلْمُ الشَّهَادَةُ؟ فَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ: " نَعَمْ , إِذَا عَلِمَ أَنَّهُ فُلَانُ ابْنُ فُلَانٍ، وَعَبْدُ فُلَانٍ، وَدَارُ فُلَانٍ وَلَا يَعْلَمُ غَيْرَهُ، وَكَذَلِكَ تَشْهَدُ أَنَّ الْعَشَرَةَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ , قَالَ: وَالرَّجُلَ يَشْهَدُ دَارَ فُلَانٍ، وَعَبْدَ فُلَانٍ، وَابْنَ فُلَانٍ , هَذَا كُلُّهُ بِالْمَعْرِفَةِ وَعِلْمِهِ بِالشَّيْءِ "
