Al-Sunnah by Abu Bakr ibn al-Khallal
Volume 2 · Page 131

Translation · EN

487 - Muhammad ibn Abi Harun informed me that Abu al-Harith narrated to them, and 'Abd Allah ibn Ahmad informed us, both regarding this issue. Abu 'Abd Allah [Ahmad ibn Hanbal] said: "And I argued against them." He said: "And the hadith of Jabir that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'I entered Paradise and saw a palace, so I asked: To whom does this belong? They said: To 'Umar.'"

488 - Ibn 'Uyaynah narrated to us, from 'Amr and Ibn al-Munkadir, that they both heard Jabir. Humayd also narrated it from Anas, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) similarly; and al-Zuhri, from Sa'id, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Salih ibn Kaysan or someone else also narrated it. As for what is narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that Abu Bakr sought permission to enter, and he said: 'Give him permission and give him the glad tidings of Paradise,' [this was said] for Abu Bakr, 'Umar, and 'Uthman; thus he gave him the glad tidings."
