490 - Muhammad ibn Ali Abu Bakr informed us that Yaqub ibn Bakhtan narrated to them regarding this issue, [saying that] Abu Abd Allah said: 'The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "I bear witness regarding ten men of Quraysh that they are in Paradise." It was said to him: "There is a man who says: 'They are in Paradise, but I do not bear witness [to it].'" He replied: "This is an ignorant man. What is bearing witness other than saying it?"'
٤٩٠ - وَأَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ أَبُو بَكْرٍ، أَنَّ يَعْقُوبَ بْنَ بَخْتَانَ حَدَّثَهُمْ فِي هَذِهِ الْمَسْأَلَةِ، قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ: وَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَشْهَدُ عَلَى عَشَرَةٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ أَنَّهُمْ فِي الْجَنَّةِ» ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: إِنَّ رَجُلًا يَقُولُ: هُمْ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَلَا أَشْهَدُ، فَقَالَ: «هَذَا رَجُلٌ جَاهِلٌ، أَيْشِ الشَّهَادَةُ إِلَّا الْقَوْلُ»
