552 - Uthman ibn Salih al-Antaki narrated to us, [son] of Jabir ibn al-Hudhayl, the Imam of the mosque there, he said: I heard Ibn al-Mubarak, and a man asked him: 'Which of them is better, 'Ali or 'Uthman?' He said: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf has already sufficed us regarding that.'

553 - 'Abd al-Malik informed me, he said: Ibn Hanbal narrated to us, he said: Bishr narrated to us, he said: My father narrated to me, from al-Zuhri, he said: Salim informed me that 'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar said: A man from the Ansar came to me, and he mentioned this hadith to its end. I asked Ibrahim al-Harbi about the statement of Ibn 'Umar regarding the Ansari: 'What does his speech mean in "sarih"?' He said: 'He means in ease/smoothness.'
