557 - And I read to him: Yahya ibn Adam said: Sharik narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Harithah, he said: The news of the pledge of allegiance to 'Uthman came to Kufa, so Ibn Mas'ud stood up and praised and extolled Allah, then said: "We have spared no effort in supporting the most noble among us, and we have pledged our allegiance to him."
٥٥٧ - وَقَرَأْتُ عَلَيْهِ: يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ قَالَ: ثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ حَارِثَةَ، قَالَ: جَاءَتْ بَيْعَةُ عُثْمَانَ إِلَى الْكُوفَةِ، فَقَامَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ، فَقَالَ: «مَا أَلَوْنَا عَنْ أَعْلَاهَا ذَا فُوقٍ، وَبَايَعْنَاهُ»
