569 - And 'Abd Allah ibn Ahmad informed us, saying: My father said: "The people of Kufa prefer 'Ali over 'Uthman, except for two men: Talhah ibn Musarrif and 'Abd Allah ibn Idris." I [the narrator] asked: "And not Zubayd?" He [Ahmad ibn Hanbal] replied: "No, he used to love 'Ali," meaning he preferred 'Ali over 'Uthman."
