642 - Muhammad ibn ‘Ali informed me, saying: Salih ibn Ahmad narrated to us regarding this issue, saying: I heard my father [Ahmad ibn Hanbal] say: "Abu Bakr reigned for two years and some [months], ‘Umar for ten, ‘Uthman for twelve, and ‘Ali for six."
