692 - Yusuf ibn Musa informed me that Abu 'Abd Allah [Ahmad ibn Hanbal] was asked regarding a man who reviled Mu'awiyah: Should he be reported to the authorities? He replied: "It is more likely that he would be treated with hostility [as a consequence]."
