724 - Al-Husayn ibn al-Hasan informed me that Muhammad narrated to them that Abu 'Abd Allah [Ahmad ibn Hanbal] said regarding the hadith of Yahya ibn Sa'id, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib: 'The discord (fitna) occurred.' Abu 'Abd Allah said: "I heard it from Yahya ibn Sa'id twice. Once he said: 'None of the Emigrants (Muhajirun) remained,' and another time he said: 'None of the people of Badr remained.'"
٧٢٤ - أَخْبَرَنِي الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا حَدَّثَهُمْ، أَنَّ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ ⦗٤٦٥⦘ فِي حَدِيثِ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ: وَقَعَتِ الْفِتْنَةُ. قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ: " سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ مَرَّتَيْنِ، مَرَّةً قَالَ: لَمْ يَبْقَ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ، وَمَرَّةً قَالَ: لَمْ يَبْقَ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَدْرٍ "
