397 - Muhammad informed us, saying: Waki' narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Khalid, from Qays, who said: When 'Umar arrived in the Levant, the people met him while he was upon his camel, and they said: "O Commander of the Faithful, if only you would ride a horse so that the notables and elite of the people might meet you." He said: So 'Umar replied: "I do not see you here; the matter is only from here," and he pointed with his hand toward the sky. "Clear the path for my camel."
