Translation · EN

762 - Muhammad ibn Abi Harun informed me that Ishaq narrated to them, saying: I asked Abu Abd Allah, saying: The Shurah (seceders) seize a man and say to him: "Disavow Ali and Uthman, or we will kill you." What is your opinion on what he should do? Abu Abd Allah said: "If he is tortured and beaten, then let him agree to what they want, and Allah knows that he is in disagreement with that [in his heart]."
