879 - Muhammad ibn al-Husayn informed me that al-Fadl narrated to them. Ismah ibn Isam informed me, saying: Hanbal narrated to us. Muhammad ibn Abi Harun and Muhammad ibn Ja'far informed me that Abu al-Harith narrated to them; they heard Abu Abdullah on this matter, and he said: "The fitra is that upon which Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, created His servants, regarding misery and happiness."

٨٧٩ - وَأَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، أَنَّ الْفَضْلَ حَدَّثَهُمْ، وَأَخْبَرَنِي عِصْمَةُ بْنُ عِصَامٍ، قَالَ: ثَنَا حَنْبَلٌ، وَأَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي هَارُونَ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، أَنَّ أَبَا الْحَارِثِ حَدَّثَهُمْ، سَمِعُوا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ فِي هَذِهِ الْمَسْأَلَةِ، قَالَ: «الْفِطْرَةُ الَّتِي فَطَرَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ الْعِبَادَ عَلَيْهَا مِنَ الشَّقَاءِ وَالسَّعَادَةِ»
