896 - Al-Abbas ibn Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Abd al-Karim informed us, saying: Ahmad ibn Ali al-Abbar narrated to me, saying: Abu Qudamah al-Sarakhsi narrated to us, saying: They came to Abd al-Rahman and said: "Say: Adultery is by divine decree? Say: Sodomy is by divine decree?" Ibn Mahdi replied to them: "We have been forbidden from sitting with the foolish."
٨٩٦ - أَخْبَرَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْأَبَّارُ، قَالَ: ثَنَا أَبُو قُدَامَةَ السَّرَخْسِيُّ، قَالَ: جَاءُوا إِلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ فَقَالُوا: قُلِ: الزِّنَا بِقَدَرٍ؟ قُلِ: اللِّوَاطُ بِقَدَرٍ؟ فَقَالَ لَهُمُ ابْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ: «نُهِينَا عَنْ مُجَالَسَةِ السُّفَهَاءِ»
