901 - Sulayman ibn al-Ash'ath informed us, saying: I heard a man say to Abu Abd Allah: "Does the Qadari force me to say that adultery is by decree (qadar) and theft is by decree?" He (Abu Abd Allah) replied: "Good and evil are from God."
٩٠١ - أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْأَشْعَثِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ: يُلْجِئُنِي الْقَدَرِيُّ إِلَى أَنْ أَقُولَ: الزِّنَا بِقَدَرٍ وَالسَّرِقَةُ بِقَدَرٍ؟ فَقَالَ: «الْخَيْرُ وَالشَّرُّ مِنَ اللَّهِ»
