908 - Yusuf ibn Musa informed me that Abu 'Abd Allah was asked about the Decree (al-Qadar), and he said: "Its good and its evil were written by Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, for the servants." It was said to him: "Is it from Allah?" He said: "Then from whom?" And I believe he said: "Yes, then from whom?"
٩٠٨ - وَأَخْبَرَنِي يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى، أَنَّ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْقَدَرِ، فَقَالَ: " خَيْرُهُ وَشَرُّهِ كَتَبَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَى الْعِبَادِ، قِيلَ لَهُ: مِنَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ: فَمِنْ مَنْ؟ وَأَظُنَّهُ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، فَمِنْ مَنْ "
