928 - Abu Bakr al-Marwudhi informed us, saying: Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Azdi, the companion of Ibn Dawud al-Khuraybi, narrated to us, saying: Abu Ya'qub al-Tustari, who was among the best of people, narrated to me, saying: I was with Yahya ibn Sa'id al-Qattan when it was said to him: 'Mu'adh ibn Mu'adh spoke words by which he intended to oppose the Qadariyyah.' So he sent his son, Muhammad, to him, saying: 'You have attained the company of Ibn 'Awn and Yunus; did you hear them speak with such words?' He said: So Mu'adh replied, 'And what does Yahya say so that I may say it?' Thus, Mu'adh retracted and adopted the position of Yahya.
