939 - Abu Bakr al-Marrudhi informed me, saying: I heard Abu Abd Allah being asked about the one who says: "There are things that Allah did not create." Is he a polytheist (mushrik)? He replied: "If he denies knowledge (of Allah), then he is a polytheist; he shall be asked to repent. If he repents, (it is accepted), otherwise he is executed, if he says: 'Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, does not know a thing until it comes to pass.'"
٩٣٩ - وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْمَرُّوذِيُّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَسْأَلُ عَنْ مَنْ قَالَ: إِنَّ مِنَ الْأَشْيَاءِ شَيْئًا لَمْ يَخْلُقِ اللَّهُ، هَذَا يَكُونُ مُشْرِكًا؟ قَالَ: إِذَا جَحَدَ الْعِلْمَ فَهُوَ مُشْرِكٌ يُسْتَتَابُ، فَإِنْ تَابَ، وَإِلَّا قُتِلَ، إِذَا قَالَ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَا يَعْلَمُ الشَّيْءَ حَتَّى يَكُونَ
