948 - Muhammad ibn 'Ali informed me, saying: Abu Bakr al-Athram narrated to us, saying: It was said to Abu 'Abd Allah: 'Should I pray over him?'—meaning the Qadari. He did not answer. Then al-'Abbadi said, while Abu 'Abd Allah was listening: 'If he is a person of innovation, one should not offer him the greeting (salam), one should not pray behind him, nor should one pray over him [at his funeral].' Abu 'Abd Allah then said: 'May Allah grant you well-being, O Abu Ishaq, and reward you with goodness,' as if he were impressed by his statement.
