965 - Ahmad ibn Shu'ayb ibn 'Ali al-Nasa'i informed us in Hims, saying: I heard al-Husayn ibn Mansur say: Ahmad ibn Hanbal said to me: "Which of the scholars said 'I am a believer'?" I replied: "I do not know of a single man whom I trust who said that." He said: "You have said nothing that no one from the people of knowledge before us has said."
