1002 - Abd al-Malik ibn Abd al-Hamid al-Maymuni informed me that he asked Abu Abd Allah [580]: 'Is faith statement, deed, and intention?' He replied to me: 'How can it be without intention? Yes, it is statement, deed, and intention; there must be intention.' He said to me: 'The intention is primary.'
١٠٠٢ - أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ الْمَيْمُونِيُّ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ⦗٥٨٠⦘: الْإِيمَانُ قَوْلٌ، وَعَمَلٌ، وَنِيَّةٌ؟ فَقَالَ لِي: " كَيْفَ يَكُونُ بِلَا نِيَّةٍ، نَعَمْ، قَوْلٌ، وَعَمَلٌ، وَنِيَّةٌ، لَا بُدَّ مِنَ النِّيَّةِ، قَالَ لِي: النِّيَّةُ مُتَقَدِّمَةٌ "
