1005 - Al-Hasan ibn Abd al-Wahhab informed me that Isma'il ibn Yusuf narrated to them, saying: Muhammad ibn Aban narrated to us, saying: I said to 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi: "Is faith (iman) statement and deed?" He said: "Yes." I said: "Does it increase and decrease?" He said: "It varies in degree, as one word may be better than another word."
