1013 - Al-Hasan ibn al-Haytham informed me that Muhammad ibn Musa narrated to them, saying: I heard Abu Abd Allah [Ahmad ibn Hanbal] say: "Faith is speech and action; it increases and decreases. When you perform good, it increases, and when you neglect it, it decreases."
١٠١٣ - أَخْبَرَنِي الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ، أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ مُوسَى حَدَّثَهُمْ، سَمِعَ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، يَقُولُ: «الْإِيمَانُ قَوْلٌ وَعَمَلٌ، يَزِيدُ وَيَنْقُصُ، إِذَا عَمِلْتَ الْخَيْرَ زَادَ، وَإِذَا ضَيَّعْتَ نَقَصَ»
