1032 - Muhammad ibn al-Husayn informed me that al-Fadl narrated to them that he heard Abu 'Abd Allah say: "Verily, increase and decrease (in faith) pertain to actions. How would his condition be if he kills a soul? Has he not made the Fire obligatory for himself? How would his condition be if he commits the destructive sins (al-mubiqat)?"
١٠٣٢ - وَأَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، أَنَّ الْفَضْلَ حَدَّثَهُمْ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ: «إِنَّمَا الزِّيَادَةُ وَالنُّقْصَانُ فِي الْعَمَلِ، كَيْفَ يَكُونُ حَالُهُ إِذَا قَتَلَ النَّفْسَ؟ أَلَيْسَ قَدْ أَوْجَبَ لَهُ النَّارَ، كَيْفَ يَكُونُ حَالُهُ إِذَا ارْتَكَبَ الْمُوبِقَاتِ»
