1074 - And Ali ibn Isa informed me that he heard Hanbal say: I heard Abu Abd Allah, and he was asked about faith (iman) and submission (islam), and he said: "Faith is different from submission."
١٠٧٤ - وَأَخْبَرَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ عِيسَى، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ حَنْبَلًا، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، وَسُئِلَ عَنِ الْإِيمَانِ وَالْإِسْلَامِ، فَقَالَ: «الْإِيمَانُ غَيْرُ الْإِسْلَامِ»
