809 - Muhammad ibn Ali informed me, saying: al-Athram narrated to us, saying: I heard Abu Abd Allah, and the hadith of Uqayl, from al-Zuhri, from Urwa, from Aisha, from the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, regarding Ali, al-Abbas, and Uqayl, from al-Zuhri, that Abu Bakr appointed Khalid [as commander] over Ali, was mentioned to him. Abu Abd Allah said: 'How [is that possible]?' He did not recognize it [as authentic], and he said: 'It does not please me that these hadiths be written down.'
