814 - Abu Bakr al-Marrudhi informed us, saying: I heard Ibn Numayr say: I heard my father say: I heard al-A'mash say, while mentioning the hadith of his that they criticize, he said: "I used to narrate to them accounts that a man says to his brother while in a state of anger, yet they adopted them as religion. Truly, I shall not return to them."
٨١٤ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْمَرُّوذِيُّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ نُمَيْرٍ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ الْأَعْمَشَ، يَقُولُ: وَذَكَرَ حَدِيثَهُ الَّذِي يُنْكِرُونَهُ، فَقَالَ: «كُنْتُ أُحَدِّثُهُمْ بِأَحَادِيثَ يَقُولُهَا الرَّجُلُ لِأَخِيهِ فِي الْغَضَبِ، فَاتَّخَذُوهَا دِينًا، لَا جَرَمَ، لَا أَعُودُ لَهَا»
