830 - Abu Bakr al-Marwadhi informed us, saying: Abu Imran al-Warkani related to us, saying: Ibrahim ibn Sa'd related to us, from Ubaydah—meaning Ibn Abi Raytah—from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abd Allah ibn Mughaffal, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 'Fear Allah, fear Allah regarding my Companions! Do not take them as targets [of criticism]. Whoever loves them, loves them out of my love, and whoever hates them, hates them out of my hatred. Whoever harms them has harmed me, and whoever harms me has harmed Allah; and whoever harms Allah, the Almighty and Exalted, is about to be forsaken by Him.'
831 - Abu Bakr al-Simsar informed us, saying: Abu al-Fath al-Simsar related to us, saying: I heard Bishr ibn al-Harith—may Allah have mercy on him—mentioning from Ibrahim ibn Sa'd, from Ubaydah ibn Abi Raytah, from Abd Allah ibn Abd al-Rahman, from Abd Allah ibn Mughaffal, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said—and he mentioned the like of the hadith of al-Warkani.
832 - Muhammad ibn Ali informed me, saying: Muhanna related to us, saying: I said to Ahmad: Ya'qub ibn Ibrahim related to us, saying: Ubayd ibn Abi Raytah related to us, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Ziyad, from Abd Allah ibn Mughaffal al-Muzani, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said this hadith. He said: And Ahmad ibn Hanbal related to me, saying: Yazid ibn Harun related to us, from Ubaydah ibn Abi Raytah, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Ziyad. And Ahmad ibn Hanbal said to me: Sa'd ibn Ibrahim related it to us, from Ubaydah, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Ziyad.
