And Abu Bakr informed us, saying: I heard Abu 'Abd Allah say: 'If he denies the knowledge?' He replied: 'If he says that Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, does not know a thing until it comes into being, he is to be asked to repent. If he repents, [it is accepted], otherwise he is to be executed.' He said: And I heard Abu 'Abd Allah say regarding the word of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic: "And [remember] when Allah took the covenant of the prophets" [Al Imran: 81], this is an argument against the Qadariyyah. And he said regarding: "And from you and from Noah" [Al-Ahzab: 7], this is an argument against them."
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، يَقُولُ: إِذَا جَحَدَ الْعِلْمَ؟ قَالَ: إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَا يَعْلَمُ الشَّيْءَ حَتَّى يَكُونَ، اسْتُتِيبَ، فَإِنْ تَابَ وَإِلَّا قُتِلَ. قَالَ: وَسَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: {وَإِذْ أَخَذَ اللَّهُ مِيثَاقَ النَّبِيِّينَ} [آل عمران: ٨١] هَذِهِ حُجَّةٌ عَلَى الْقَدَرِيَّةِ، وَقَالَ: {وَمِنْكَ وَمِنْ نُوحٍ} [الأحزاب: ٧] هَذِهِ حُجَّةٌ عَلَيْهِمْ
