1180 - Abu Bakr informed us, saying: Abu 'Abd Allah narrated to us, saying: Rawh and Abu al-Mundhir narrated to us, saying: Malik narrated to us, from 'Abd Allah ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Ma'mar al-Ansari, from Abu Yunus, the freed slave of 'A'ishah, from 'A'ishah, that a man said, while he was standing at the door: "O Messenger of Allah, I wake up in a state of janaba (major ritual impurity) while I intend to fast." The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "I also wake up in a state of janaba while I intend to fast, then I perform ghusl (full ablution) and fast." The man said: "You are not like us, for you have had your past and future sins forgiven." The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, became angry and said: "By Allah, I indeed hope that I am the most God-fearing among you and the most knowledgeable of what I guard against." Abu al-Mundhir said: "And the most knowledgeable among you of what I guard against."
