1194 - Abu Bakr informed us, he said: Abu 'Abd Allah narrated to us, he said: Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Shu'bah, he said: Abu Jamrah narrated to me, he said: I heard Ibn 'Abbas say: When the delegation of 'Abd al-Qays came to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), he commanded them to have faith in Allah, the Almighty and Majestic. He said: "Do you know what faith is?" They replied: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "Testifying that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establishing prayer, giving Zakat, fasting Ramadan, and giving the fifth (khums) of the spoils."
١١٩٤ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو جَمْرَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: إِنَّ وَفْدَ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ لَمَّا قَدِمُوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَمَرَهُمْ بِالْإِيمَانِ بِاللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، قَالَ: «أَتَدْرُونَ مَا الْإِيمَانُ؟» . قَالُوا: اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ. قَالَ: «شَهَادَةُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ، وَإِقَامَةُ الصَّلَاةِ، وَإِيتَاءُ الزَّكَاةِ، وَصَوْمُ رَمَضَانَ، وَأَنْ تُعْطُوا الْخُمْسَ مِنَ الْمَغْنَمِ»
