1237 - He said: Abu 'Abd Allah narrated to us, he said: Abu 'Abd al-Rahman al-Raqqi narrated to us, [91] he said: al-Hasan, meaning Abu Malih, narrated to us from al-Zuhri, who said: Hisham ibn 'Abd al-Malik said: "Has it reached you that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, commanded a caller to call out: 'Whoever says: There is no god but Allah, for him is Paradise'?" He (al-Zuhri) said: "I replied: 'Yes, and that was before the obligatory duties (al-fara'id) were revealed. Then the obligatory duties were revealed, so it is incumbent upon people to act in accordance with what Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, has obligated upon them.'"
