1263 - Abu 'Abd Allah narrated to us, he said: 'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, he said: Ma'mar narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, and Qatadah, from a man, from 'Ikrimah, and from Ibn Tawus, from his father—I think he attributed it to Abu Hurayrah—all of them tracing it back to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), who said: "A fornicator does not fornicate while he is a believer at the time he fornicates, nor does one drink wine while he is a believer at the time he drinks it, nor does he embezzle while he is a believer at the time he embezzles, nor does he seize loot—such that people raise their eyes towards him regarding it—while he is a believer." Ibn Tawus said: My father said: When he does that, faith departs from him. He said: He said: Faith is like a shadow, and similar to this."
