1100 - Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn al-Hajjaj Abu Bakr al-Marwudhi informed us, saying: Abu 'Abd Allah was asked about faith, so he mentioned the hadith of the delegation of 'Abd al-Qays: Abu 'Abd Allah narrated to us, saying: Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Shu'bah, who said: Abu Jamrah narrated to me, saying: I heard Ibn 'Abbas say: When the delegation of 'Abd al-Qays came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, he commanded them to have faith in Allah. He said: "Do you know what faith in Allah is?" They said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "The testimony that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; the establishment of prayer; the giving of zakat; fasting Ramadan; and that you give a fifth of the spoils."
