Ma'qal said: 'Then I sat with Maymun ibn Mihran, and it was said to him: "O Abu Ayyub, if you would read a Surah for us and interpret it." He read, or it was read: "When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] (Idha al-shamsu kuwwirat)..." until he reached: "[One] obeyed there [and] trustworthy" (Surah al-Takwir: 21). He said: "That is Gabriel, peace be upon him, and utter loss to the one who says: 'His faith is like the faith of Gabriel.'"
