1110 - Abu Bakr informed us, saying: Abu 'Abd Allah [Ahmad ibn Hanbal] narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, saying: Shu'bah narrated to us, and Hajjaj [also] said: Shu'bah narrated to me, saying: I heard Qatadah narrating from Anas ibn Malik, from the Prophet (peace be upon him), that he said: 'None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother—or: his neighbor'—and Hajjaj had no doubt regarding [the word] 'brother'—'what he loves for himself.'
١١١٠ - وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ: ثنا شُعْبَةُ، وَحَجَّاجٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ يُحَدِّثُ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " لَا يُؤْمِنُ أَحَدُكُمْ حَتَّى يُحِبَّ لِأَخِيهِ أَوْ: لِجَارِهِ «، وَلَمْ يَشُكَّ حَجَّاجٌ فِي أَخِيهِ» مَا يُحِبُّ لِنَفْسِهِ "
