1132 - Abu Bakr informed us, saying: Abu 'Abd Allah narrated to us; and 'Abd al-Malik al-Maymuni informed me, saying: Ahmad ibn Hanbal narrated to us, saying: 'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, saying: Ma'mar narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from 'Amir ibn Sa'd, from his father, from the Prophet (peace be upon him), who said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) gave a man among them [a gift/charity], and Sa'd said: 'O Prophet of Allah, you have given such-and-such person, and you did not give such-and-such person anything, even though he is a believer?' The Prophet (peace be upon him) replied: 'Or a Muslim.' Sa'd repeated this three times, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) kept saying: 'Or a Muslim.' Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'I give to men and leave out those who are dearer to me than them, and I do not give them anything, for fear that they might be thrown upon their faces into the Fire.'
١١٣٢ - وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، وأَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ الْمَيْمُونِيُّ، قَالَ: ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، قَالَ: ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: ثنا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: أَعْطَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلًا مِنْهُمْ، فَقَالَ سَعْدٌ: يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ، أَعْطَيْتَ فُلَانًا وَلَمْ تُعْطِ فُلَانًا شَيْئًا وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَوْ مُسْلِمٌ» . حَتَّى أَعَادَهَا سَعْدٌ ثَلَاثًا، وَالنَّبِيُّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ يَقُولُ: «أَوْ مُسْلِمٌ» ثُمَّ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنِّي لَأُعْطِي رِجَالًا وَأَدَعُ مَنْ هُوَ ⦗٤٤⦘ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْهُمْ فَلَا أُعْطِيهِ شَيْئًا؛ مَخَافَةَ أَنْ يُكَبُّوا فِي النَّارِ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ»
