1143 - Abu Bakr informed us, saying: Abu 'Abd Allah narrated to us, saying: Waki' narrated to us, saying: Isra'il narrated to us, from Simak, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: When the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was directed towards the Ka'bah, they said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what about those who died while they were praying towards Bayt al-Maqdis?' So Allah, Blessed and Exalted be He, revealed: 'And Allah would never let your faith go to waste' [Al-Baqarah: 143]."
١١٤٣ - وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: ثنا وَكِيعٌ، قَالَ: ثنا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: لَمَّا وَجَّهَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى الْكَعْبَةِ، قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ " كَيْفَ بِالَّذِينَ مَاتُوا وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ إِلَى بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ؟ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى: {وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُضِيعَ إِيمَانَكُمْ} [البقرة: ١٤٣] "
