1158 - 'Abd al-Malik al-Maymuni informed us, saying: Ibn Hanbal narrated to us, saying: Musa ibn Dawud narrated to us, saying: Zuhayr narrated to us, from Yahya ibn Sa'id, from al-Nu'man ibn Murrah, that a man was mentioned in the presence of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) as having modesty, so he said: "Verily, faith consists of branches, and modesty is a branch of faith."
١١٥٨ - أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ الْمَيْمُونِيُّ، قَالَ: ثنا ابْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، قَالَ: ثنا مُوسَى ⦗٥٦⦘ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: ثنا زُهَيْرٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا ذُكِرَ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِحَيَاءٍ، فَقَالَ: «إِنَّ الْإِيمَانَ ذُو شُعَبٍ، وَإِنَّ الْحَيَاءَ شُعْبَةٌ مِنَ الْإِيمَانِ»
