1690 - Al-Hasan ibn Nasih al-Khallal informed us, saying: Qasim ibn Humayd al-Ma'mari narrated to us, saying: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Muhammad ibn Hubayb narrated to us, from his father, who said: I witnessed Khalid. Harb al-Kirmani informed me, saying: Abu 'Ali al-Hasan ibn al-Sabbah narrated to us, saying: Qasim al-Ma'mari narrated to us, saying: 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Muhammad ibn Hubayb narrated to us, saying: My father narrated to me, from my grandfather Hubayb, who said: I witnessed Khalid ibn 'Abd Allah al-Qasri addressing the people in Wasit on the day of al-Nahr (the Day of Sacrifice), and he said: "O people, return and offer your sacrifices, may Allah accept it from you, for I am going to sacrifice al-Ja'd ibn Dirham, for he claimed that Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, did not speak to Moses directly, and did not take Abraham as an intimate friend. Exalted and glorified is He above what al-Ja'd ibn Dirham says." Then he descended and slaughtered him. Al-Hasan ibn Nasih al-Khallal added: Yusuf al-Qattan narrated it to him in the house of Muhammad ibn Isma'il al-Qattan, and he said to me: "Do you know al-Ja'd ibn Dirham?" I said: "No." He said: "He is the father of al-Jahm, or his grandfather—al-Hasan ibn Nasih was doubtful—the one who doubted concerning Allah for forty mornings."
