1710 - I read to al-Husayn ibn 'Abd Allah al-Nu'aymi, from al-Husayn ibn al-Hasan, who said: Abu Bakr al-Marrudhi narrated to us, saying: I said to Abu 'Abd Allah: 'A man who is a Quran reciter (muqri') is approached by the son of a Jahmi; do you think he should teach him?' He replied: 'And how old is he?' I said: 'Seven or eight years old.' He said: 'Do not teach him, and do not accept him; let the father be humiliated through him.'
