1742 - Abu Bakr al-Marwudhi informed us, saying: Muhammad ibn 'Abbas, the companion of al-Shama, narrated to us, and he said: I heard Abu 'Uthman Sa'id ibn Nusayr saying: I heard Sufyan ibn 'Uyayna saying, and he mentioned al-Mirrisi, so he said: "What is this little vermin saying?" He said: "He says, O Abu Muhammad: The Qur'an is created." He [Sufyan] replied: "Thus did Allah, Mighty and Majestic, say: 'Surely, His is the creation and the command.'"
١٧٤٢ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْمَرُّوذِيُّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ صَاحِبُ الشَّامَةِ، وَقَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عُثْمَانَ سَعِيدَ بْنَ نُصَيْرٍ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ سُفْيَانَ بْنَ عُيَيْنَةَ، يَقُولُ وَذَكَرَ الْمِرِّيسِيَّ، فَقَالَ: «مَا يَقُولُ هَذَا الدُّوَيْبَةُ؟» قَالَ: يَقُولُ يَا أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ: الْقُرْآنُ مَخْلُوقٌ. قَالَ: «كَذَا قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، أَلَا لَهُ الْخَلْقُ وَالْأَمْرُ»
