1750 - Abu Bakr al-Marrudhi informed us, saying: I heard Abu Bakr ibn Ishaq al-Saghani say: I heard al-Hasan ibn Musa al-Ashyab saying: "Bishr al-Marisi and Sha'wanah al-Basri are one and the same; there is no difference between them, except that he [Sha'wanah] used to pray."
١٧٥٠ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْمَرُّوذِيُّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا بَكْرِ بْنَ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّاغَانِيَّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ مُوسَى الْأَشْيَبَ، يَقُولُ: «مَا بِشْرٌ الْمِرِّيسِيُّ وَشَعْوَانَةُ الْبَصْرِيُّ إِلَّا وَاحِدٌ، مَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَرْقٌ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُصَلِّي»
