1755 - Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Jami' al-Razi informed me, saying: I heard Muhammad ibn 'Ammar saying: "I arrived in Baghdad in the year [two hundred and] fifteen or sixteen, and al-Marisi had died there. He remained in his house for three days, and no one dared to go near him, until they went to the Sultan and said: 'He is putrefying and causing us harm.' He said: So he sent some guards. He said: He was brought out, and I saw something on his body that was blackened, and [the area] behind him was blackened, and I saw the boys throwing stones at him, and they would land on his bier."
