1782 - Al-Hasan ibn Thawab al-Mukharrimi informed us that he said to Abu Abd Allah Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Hanbal: "What about the Waqifa (those who remain undecided regarding the createdness of the Quran)?" He replied: "They are worse than the Jahmiyya; they conceal themselves behind the position of non-committal (al-waqf)."
١٧٨٢ - أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ ثَوَابٍ الْمُخَرِّمِيُّ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ: الْوَاقِفَةُ؟، قَالَ: «هُمْ شَرٌّ مِنَ الْجَهْمِيَّةِ، اسْتَتَرُوا بِالْوَقْفِ»
