1795 - I read to al-Husayn ibn 'Abd Allah al-Nu'aymi, from al-Husayn ibn al-Hasan, who said: Abu Dawud Sulayman ibn al-Ash'ath narrated to us, saying: I said to Ahmad: "Ibn Abi Samina narrated from you that you commanded him to refrain (waqf)," and he mentioned this discourse.
١٧٩٥ - وَقَرَأْتُ عَلَى الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ النُّعَيْمِيِّ، عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ، قَالَ: ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْأَشْعَثِ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَحْمَدَ: إِنَّ ابْنَ أَبِي سَمِينَةَ رَوَى عَنْكَ أَنَّكَ أَمَرْتَهُ أَنْ يَقِفَ، وَذَكَرَ هَذَا الْكَلَامَ
