1796 - And Muhammad ibn 'Ali informed us, saying: Muthanna ibn Jami' narrated to us, saying: I said to Ahmad ibn Hanbal: "What do you say regarding the Qur'an?" He replied: "It is the Speech of Allah, and it is uncreated." I said: "Some people relate from you that you say: 'The Speech of Allah,' and then remain silent." He said: "Whoever says that has spoken falsely."
