1807 - Abu Dawud al-Sijistani informed us, saying: I heard Qutaybah say: "The Waqifah (those who withhold judgment on the Quran) are Jahmiyyah." And I heard Qutaybah, when it was said to him, he said: "The Waqifah are worse than these," meaning: than those who say: "The Quran is created."
١٨٠٧ - أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ السِّجِسْتَانِيُّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ قُتَيْبَةَ، قَالَ: «الْوَاقِفَةُ جَهْمِيَّةٌ» ، وَسَمِعْتُ قُتَيْبَةَ، قِيلَ لَهُ، فَقَالَ: «الْوَاقِفَةُ شَرٌّ مِنْ هَؤُلَاءِ» ، يَعْنِي: مِمَّنْ قَالَ: الْقُرْآنُ مَخْلُوقٌ
