From the Admonitions of the Wise

93 - 'Abdullāh narrated to us, saying: Ibrāhīm ibn ʿAbd al-Malik narrated to me, saying: One of the wise said to his son: "O my son! Seclude yourself from people, for that which is not heard will never harm you, and the one you do not see will never hurt you. O my son! Indeed, this world does not suit the one who loves it, nor the one who hates it, except that it is more suited to the one who hates it, because it comes to him without occupation of heart or fatigue of body."
