AMONG THE ADVICES OF THE COMPANIONS AND SUCCESSORS

175 - ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us: Hārūn ibn ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us: Muḥammad ibn Yazīd ibn Khunayṣ narrated to us, from ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Abī Dāwūd, who said: A man said to Salmān, May God be pleased with him: "Advise me." He said: "Do not mingle with people." The man said: "And how can one live among people if he does not mingle with them?" He said: "If you must mingle with them, then speak truthfully and discharge trusts."
