191 - ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us, he said: Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥusayn narrated to me: ʿAmmār ibn ʿUthmān al-Ḥalabī narrated to me: Ḥuṣayn ibn al-Qāsim al-Warrāq narrated to me, he said: A worshiper who had secluded himself in the lands of the Levant said to me—when I reproached him for his solitude and isolation—he said: "O my brother! Lack of patience upon the truth brought me to this place." He said: I asked: "How is that?" He said: "I used to see matters that were obligatory upon me to change, yet I was unable to do so. When that became unbearable for me, I feared that failing to take action against them would become too narrow for me, and in taking action lay destruction. So I intended to act, but then I feared, taking caution for myself, and He made wide for me moving away and fleeing from them." He said: Then his tears flowed while he recited this verse: {O My servants who have believed, indeed My earth is spacious, so Me alone worship.} [Sūrat al-ʿAnkabūt: 56]
